Contribuisci feedbackLoved the food here. We got the whole chicken with chakalaka beans, fried rice and sweet potato fries for the sides. Chicken was cooked to perfection, the accompanying sauce was good. My wife and I both loved the peri-peri seasoning.
If you refer to the 1 star review from Teresa Ross, she mentions that two other people came into the restaurant. Well, that was my wife and me, unfortunately. I can confirm that what Teresa said is true: the waitress was extremely unprofessional. When we walked in the restaurant, there was no one there to greet us; we paced for a few minutes before a young lady finally appeared. Before she even sat us, she asked what we wanted to drink. That was a first for me. Except for Teresa 's party of four people, the restaurant was completely empty. So, when the waitress finally returned to our table to take our order, I was confused when she apologized for the delay and said, It 's been crazy here. Anyway, she took our order, but she didn 't ask any follow up questions that our order required, i.e. Do you want lamb or beef with the Zimbo Platter?; How hot do you want the sauce? When we realized this minutes later, we called her back to the table and mentioned to her that we never specified our selections. The waitress proceeded to give us attitude as if we had done something wrong, and then, raising her voice, said, I 'm sorry if I offended you, but it 's just been a really hard day. Last night I didn 't have a customer until 8:30 PM, and you [and the other table] are my only customers today so far. So, I 'm sorry if I offended you. I 'm still confused as to why she thought she was offending us; I don 't think she understands the term. As for the lack of tables, she previously told us, It 's been crazy here. Again, I 'm still confused as to what she was talking about. After her tirade, she ran out of the restaurant. We thought she left for good, but she returned 10 minutes later and stormed into the back of restaurant. She came back with two empty plates for us that each had about two tablespoons of water on them. I was too nervous to mention it to her, because I thought she would get even more upset and spit in our food; so I dumped the water out myself onto extra napkins that we had. Eventually, the food came and, although slightly cold, it was pretty good. But the food was not enough to salvage the experience we had. If not for the automatic 20 percent Living Wage Fee, we would not have left a tip for the waitress. And, to top it all off, when we were leaving the restaurant around 7:20 PM, we found the door to the restaurant had been locked. The restaurant is open until 9:00 PM on Saturdays, so we 're assuming the waitress locked the door to prevent more customers from coming in. This restaurant has a lot of potential, but it will never realize that potential with such poor service. 0 stars from us and we will not be back to try again.
Yummy peri peri chicken, tender and perfect charred flavor. The regular fries and chakalaka beans were also tasty accompaniments. Grab a Jamaican ginger beer to wash it all down! Spacious setting and pleasant, attentive service. Looking forward to coming back to this special, local spot to try more foods
If I could give it 0 I would. It was absolutely hilarious in the worse way possible. The location is in the middle of nowhere, the teen taking care of us was unprofessional in every way. The host had her AirPods in and a moody attitude. I suspect she was also cooking because even though there was only 4 of us at the time it took about 30 mins to get our food…the place was empty. To top it all off the minute 2 other customers walked in and sat down she had a mental breakdown talking about her long hours and how we were her first costumers she’s had in days. Honestly what an experience.
Nice addition to the Bethlehem area. Went here on a Saturday we were the first people at 6pm. Seating is spacious nice wooden tables with colorful chairs and art work. Food came quickly and served on a metal tray. We both ordered the peri peri mild chicken and it was moist and delicious. Only complaint is, I could’ve eaten more chicken the portion was small! I had two sides…spinach with peanut sauce and the chakalaka beans. The beans had a mild heat to it and the spinach was delicious with a creamy peanut sauce. My friend had the corn and enjoyed it. The corn was on the cob and cut up and grilled. We got water bottles because they didn’t offer table water with lemon? The owner came out and spoke to us and was very charming! It is nice to have different ethnic restaurants in the area and I will be returning to try more delicious dishes! They also have another restaurant in Easton called Hoza restaurant!
