Fischtempel - Lübeck

A great choice if you are at Travemünde and you want to try some local food, in particular fish and seafood. Good selection, very well prepared and friendly staff. Even our "neighbour" table tried to be a bit difficult, our waitress did a good job handling the complaint. Its very nice to sit on a table on the water!

Enjoyed very friendly service, fresh local fish and Labskaus, plus fish and chips for our kid. Dining outside on the swimming terrace is fun,too, as long as you don't mind the occasional movement. Excellent spot for watching ships passing by in a quiet environment. Note the restaurant can neither be seen nor directly accessed from the nearby "Auf dem Baggersand" street, only from "Fischereihafen" (fish harbor) footpath.

Passing by Travemunde my son and I had a late lunch at the Fischtempel along the fisherman harbor - Waaaw, we are still stunned by the food! The place looked cozy, nice and clean; friendly welcome, polite and not oppressing. Food menu looked good and specialty of the house is fresh fish. We were offered a catch of the day which was presented to us on a tray - a Brill (Barbue in French or Kleist/Glattbut in German) of 1,2kg ! For two maybe a little much but we decided to go for it; the fish was pan fried just with butter, served with mashed potatoes and a salad, very simple but what a treat - just fabulous, fresh, tender, a real feast. On top an excllent service, nice and cheerful, a good glass of white wine and to finish we were offered a schnaps from Austria. The best came at the end as we paid less than Euro 50 for such an experience, everything included. Amazing assortment of fresh Baltic sea fish for any taste. A must stop for any traveller that wants to taste traditional dishes from Nothern Germany. Friendly helpfull staff on the harbor quay. Outside seating and indoor AC. See you again!

We had ordered a table for 10 people. because it was our high time we had asked several times to give us a nice table. one should assume (even if there are no table ceilings) that the table is at least covered with cutlery and a little deco. when we arrived, we were assigned a round table where the cutlery was on 2 tellers and it was very cramped for 10 people. So a second was added. we felt that very sweet. the food was tasty and also came for everyone at the same time.
