Waffle House - Lumberton

Stopped in here for an odd morning hour breakfast (3:30 A.M. , as I was on my way to Myrtle Beach coming from Southern Maryland. First thing I noticed as I approached the entrance was that the 3 booths off to the left hand side (nearest the restrooms were all full of plates, cups and rubbish from previous customers. Upon entering this Waffle House the area of stools next to the counter was taped off with yellow tape. So, I sat down at the smaller counter next to that one. I noticed I was the only customer in the place and that there were 4 employees. One was cleaning the grill and I assumed the other 3 were waitresses. They were just standing there talking amongst each other. After waiting about 5 minutes, one of the waitresses came over and told me where I was sitting was for Take Out customers only. I said OK , got up and moved to a booth near that counter. She then came over and told me that the booths in this area were for Take Out customers as well. I asked her if there was anywhere I COULD sit to have breakfast? She told me I could sit at one of the 3 booths located near the restrooms. I asked her if she meant the 3 booths that hadn 't been cleaned off yet? She just gave me the Deer in the headlights look and said nothing. I told her to Never mind , got up and promptly left. This whole time no other customers came in and the other 2 lady 's just stood there talking with each other. I wondered how long it had been since the previous customers left and how long it would be before the 3 tables would be cleaned. I mean what are you getting paid for there!? Very un professional staff!

What a team. This crew really has it together. Food was great.

Waitress was sad didnt get my order right. But, that's ok. I was feed quickly and out of there in 20 minutes. Sad girl still got a $5.00 tip. Bless her heart. Probably no fun working at WAFFLE HOUSE.
