Air conditioned. The staff will mix and match dishes to cater for vegetarian/vegan tastes. Parking is outside. Newspapers and children’s area/toys are provided. I would recommend for a hearty breakfast and if you fancy an alternative vegetarian breakfast
We were visiting this area of Luton for the day and looked for somewhere to sit and eat and which also had a toilet. From the outside Mortons was perhaps not the most inviting, looking like a transport cafe. However, the food was very acceptable and was certainly cheap. I can recommend the bacon French (a baguette). The staff were friendly and the toilet was clean with baby changing facilities.
I take no pleasure in this review as the people seemed friendly and the fried breakfast was not bad. However the place was just filthy and dirty inside. The tables, chairs, floor, walls just disgusting. The kids high chairs were covered in food stains and filth that must have been months old. The plates and cutlery didn't seem dirty but it's a guess as what the cooking areas are like. Needs a deep deep clean and repaint. Had much worse fry ups before but this must be the grubbiest place I have eaten in for about 20 years. It has 5 stars on the food hygiene ratings which is quite stunning.
The food was bad the prices were high. My main issue was the hygiene, I could see the remains of xmas decorations from 10 months ago. I'd say the place has not been cleaned in as long! Filthy... thick dust under the cutlery ... I'd say more but it is stressing me out
Every visit to this cafe has been excellent! Home cooked honest food at decent honest prices! Served with a smile and genuine warmth.
