Carlitos Barbecue Taqueria - Lyndhurst

I really enjoyed this restaurant, but they disappointed us by abruptly closing down. They opened during the pandemic, which was commendable. A young man informed us that they couldn't serve beef, but offered pork instead. We tried their corn queso and it was delicious. We went back multiple times, only to find them closed again with no explanation. It felt like they were playing with us for over a year. I won't speak poorly about the owners' other establishment, but I won't support any of their businesses in the future.

Carlito's is amazing! I first discovered them at Garden State Plaza and was immediately drawn in by the delicious aroma. When their food truck showed up at my building, I tried their Birria Quesa-Tacos, which are tortillas grilled with cheese that melts and sticks to the tortilla. It was so tasty! However, what truly won me over and elevated them from a 4-star to a 5-star rating was visiting their location, which offered additional menu items not available on the food truck... like NACHOS! Their brisket nachos are possibly the best thing I have ever tasted. I rarely give a 5-star rating, but the brisket nachos alone deserve it. With all their other high-quality offerings, all I can say is yum!

I love the wide range of taco options available at this restaurant! There are so many different choices to choose from, and you can also try something new. The quality is excellent as well.

Just tried this place for the first time. I ordered 2 tacos, Carne Asada and Brisket. I went with the Carne first and it was insanely good. Couldn't believe it. Then came the brisket, my knees became weak! I almost fell from his tasty that was! Easy choice as as my top new taco joint!
