We were traveling through Lyon and found Danton on TripAdvisor. We called ahead and made a reservation and good thing we did. The restaurant is quite small with seating for about 28 people with a somewhat unassuming exterior. The kitchens opening hours is from 19.30-21.30 and a couple were unfortunately turned away at the door. We were greeted and quite quick the waiter noticed our lackluster french and provided help with translating the french menu.We had a lovely meal where especially; the green peas with smoked ham as a starter, the 72h cooked beef cheek for main and the "disassembled" tiramisu as a lovely finishing dessert is highly recommendable. Had two glasses of local wine from the region which complimented the meal very well. All in all we dined two people - 2 courses with a shared dessert for 70€ with exceptional value for money. We had an excellent dinner and I would highly recommend this culinary pearl in Lyon.
Enjoyed a nice meal here that was quite pleasant. Unpretentious and local, this establishment serves good food just as much as it serves it with a smile. The white fish was delicious as so was the assortment of cheese and strawberry dessert. Loved it and planning to recommend this place for others to enjoy.
We stopped by for lunch in this small bistrot. I would describe their cooking as "traditional with a modern twist." Excellent service and outstanding food. Well selected wine list that paired well with their cuisine.
Small, very French place, super nice but do not expect the waiter to speak any English! We both had the giant ravioli (one pice) with meat and foie gras for starter, and it was really good, as was the bread also. Very small amounts of foie gras, though. We had the scallop risotto for main course, five large delicious scallops in an out of this world tasty risotto. BUT! We did not like the wines and also found them quite expensive. We tried a large pichet (46 cL, 22€) of Cotes du Rhone, and it was not good. Optimistic as we were, we tried a white wine for the scallops. Again same amount and price. However, this white wine was really not good, we both had associations to mosquito repellent. So no matter how good the food was, I cannot rate more than 3 TripAdvisor stars due to the bad experiences with the wines. I tried to tell the waiter (in a quite ok French actually) that we did not like the white wine, but he did not really care...
