We wandered randomly into MIMA without a reservation after having been turned away by several other places nearby – a delicious accident, since we later sampled a few of the other local places and they could not hold a candle to it. Sasha, our waiter, took excellent care of us all night, and made us feel wonderfully welcome and looked after. He was also able to support our somewhat limited French with an exceptional grasp of English that helped us to relax no end on the first day of our trip. The food was exceptional. A particular highlight, and if you’re reading reviews, you’ve already seen a picture of this, was the star shaped sourdough pizza (each point of the star is filled with a different content – I strongly recommend it). We’re no strangers to sourdough but have never before found it so soft and digestible. The pasta and seafood were similarly appetizing. Even things I’ve usually been disappointed by at other restaurants, like octopus, stood out as being exceptionally well cooked. Overall, we found MIMA to be one of the best restaurants we sampled in Lyon, and certainly the best value for money. If you’re a fan of Italian food, definitely give it a go.
We had a fantastic meal here four cheese pizza and spinach/cheese cannelloni, which came with fresh bread with olive oil. They had a large selection of cocktails and wine, but in addition to adults there were lots of families with young children when we ate there. Service was good, and we did okay with our mediocre French. Desserts looked good, but we were full. The food was at least as good as in more expensive restaurants where we ate.

I recommend this charming Italian family restaurant very warm. the team is adorable and at your ear to advise and serve at best, when at the dishes they are hearty and of quality.
