Golden Gecko Hotel - Mackay

Great staff, great beer garden, awesome ambiance. We called in here on a night out and really enjoyed it. Surprised more people weren't there! A relaxed band would be great in the beer garden!

Had lunch twice here recently and each time had the fish and chips. The grilled reef fish was beautifully cooked and fresh, the chips hot and crisp and the small salad complimented the meal. Just right for a lunch on the run. We will come back on our next visit to Mackay. Very reasonably priced too!

I will not be returning here and will also be reporting the owner for his actions. Despicable that a glass of water is not provided free of charge. This happened to me just minutes after a pregnant woman was also refused a free glass of water.

This is the place for a good pub meal. Parking available out the back. Outside tables available. Central location in Mackay CBD

We have been to Golden Gecko on a number of occasions and so far have never been disappointed with the meals....the prices are also very very reasonable. the food is very good, i would say the steak is as good as the Austral and about half the price...well done
