This Indian restaurant is a bit out of the way and I only noticed it by taking a walk around the Maddington Centro area. Decided to give it a shot. We ordered the lamb rogan josh, beef masala, plain naan and a serving each of saffron and basmati steamed rice. The place wasn't very busy so the service was quite good, Indian music wasn't overpowering, decorations not overstated and the food came out promptly and, although it tasted wonderful, the small serving size left us somewhat underwhelmed. I will look around again for some more superb Indian food before coming back to this restaurant due to the small servings not being great value for money.
The previous reviewer must have dined at a different restaurant. I found the staff to be rude and the food to be very expensive, especially considering the small portions. The manager seemed to have a split personality, as she would be friendly one moment and then aggressive the next when asked about the food. The servings were quite small, especially when using a Scoopon voucher, where you were made to share rice and dessert and made to feel like a cheapskate. The overall experience reminded me of the ad where the waiter asks if the guests are "spending or non-spending" and adjusts the service accordingly. My advice to anyone considering using a Scoopon at this restaurant would be to think twice. While the food was decent, the management was unpleasant and dishonest, leaving me to question the integrity of the food preparation process.
Wow, I cannot express enough how impressed I was with this charming restaurant! Having traveled to India five times and developing a love for the food and culture, I was delighted to find that this restaurant exceeded all of my expectations. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, just like I experienced in India. The atmosphere was cozy, perfect for a quiet meal or for larger groups. The prices were very affordable, but the flavors were truly fit for royalty. Each dish was expertly prepared, beautifully presented, and served piping hot. Even the spiciest dishes were mild to medium in heat, but still packed with flavor from the first bite to the last. The standout dish for the evening was the Dill Tikka Salmon, an absolute must-try that left me in culinary heaven. Be sure to bring your own drinks and make a reservation in advance, as this restaurant is gaining a well-deserved reputation. The only downside was that the meals are prepared in between take-out orders, which can lead to longer wait times (up to 40 minutes) after the appetizers. Despite this, the food transported me back to the streets of Chennai and Mumbai. I highly recommend this hidden gem in Perth for anyone in search of authentic Indian cuisine at reasonable prices. Top-notch food for a great value.
