The most notable problem is the noxious odor in the rooms that we booked all of them had a strong moldy smell coming from the AC and we found a sock under the sheets of one bed leading us to believe the beds had not been made.Rooms: Sock found under the sheets, centipede crawling around, very noxious odor in our 3 rooms.Food drinks: They are understaffed so service was slow and poor.
Found bed bugs in my room. Confronted the front desk, they switched us rooms but refused to allow us to use the washing machine for our clothes as to not spread bugs to the new room or my home also refused to pay for the clothes to be taken to a laundromat. Pretty much said that it's not their problem if bedbugs from their room spread to my home. They had housekeeping go into the room to look for bugs. Not a professional. Told me I'm lying about the bugs and bug droppings I found all over the room. Told us we are bot welcome back. I dint want to come back you have bed bugs!!!
We arrived Friday, May 19 and the South gate entrance is closed until next week for construction. The drive from the north gate through the park is about 10 minutes which is inconvenient when we booked this hotel due to its proximity to the wedding venue. The rooms on the river side have a beautiful view that we enjoyed but it was a little weird that the balconies were adjoining and the locks to the sliding doors are kind of finicky. There is no cleaning service for multiple-night stays. Extra linens were available at the front desk. The pool was large and the area was clean with plenty of seating and towels. Our kids had hours of fun in the pool with their cousins. There was a lot of seating around the hotel and different activities for entertainment. The hiking in the park was challenging and fun for our group. I recommend staying at the inn for its proximity to trails and the food in the Sunday lunch buffet was amazing after a long hike. The rooms are dated but clean.Food drinks: The restaurant had a delicious lunch buffet with a variety of homemade items.
We hosted a 50-person wedding there in May, using the patio and overlook rooms for ceremony and reception. Everything was amazing. It was fun working with Kasey and Bogie because at times they seemed just as excited as we were.Everything was set up how we had requested it, including the outside chairs, and they worked with the rental company on our behalf to make it so.The food was great, especially the roasted sweet potatoes and airline chicken. The sound system was good quality, and the TV was perfect for our slideshow. The serving staff was friendly and attentive, clearing out dishes as soon as they were finished.Everyone loved breakfast in the Hoffman room. It's a bit less fancy than the Overlook, but it was fine for our purposes. I'd recommend doing a send-off breakfast like ours if other couples have a weekend wedding there because it gave everyone a chance to say goodbye. Thanks for making it a great weekend!
This place is great for a weekend in the park. Our room was a typical park lodge room but clean with good bedding. We had a balcony on the river side where we really enjoyed beginning/ending our days. There are interesting views, with the city and river on one side, and a power plant on the other (slightly dystopian feel, but still rather interesting). The Inn is large and has a pleasant aspect. The food in the dining hall is only so-so, but convenient and we enjoyed having a hearty breakfast there before setting out on a big hiking day. We felt like it was very reasonably priced, and the staff was friendly.
