We landed on this place initially only because the lady behind the counter was friendly and helpful. The more we looked and compared menus to other nearby eateries, the more Jo-Ann’s was appealing with what it offered and its competitive cost. In the end, we took the leap and were exceptionally impressed with our meal. The sandwiches were jam-packed with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavour. Two of us have dairy allergies, and the server was well acquainted with how to accommodate us since she also shared our allergy. She even followed up with us to clarify our needs were met prior to making the food. When we picked up the ready sandwiches, I was about to ask if she had included the requested additions on our sandwiches. She finished my sentence with a smile and assured me everything was as ordered. It’s so great to go to an establishment and actually be heard and individually tended to with detail, especially somewhere that is clearly bustling with business! Bonuses: free bag of chips with every sandwich; pickles the size of your arm; and dairy-free fresh baked goods!
Stopped for lunch on Labour Day. (Thank you for being open!! Sweet, funky place in the downstairs of an old house. Sign boards with all kinds of interesting, unusual sandwiches and other items. Delicious bread. Winning sandwich was homemade meatloaf thick and just like Mom used to make. Get food to go or eat at self serve tables in alley way beside store.
We stopped along the way into Joanne’s and had their delicious breakfast sandwich. Breakfast places were hard to find in the bay so we were lucky to stumble upon this place.
Stopped here for lunch. It's a deli/market. Three of us had the lobster sandwich and chowder. The chowder was delicious. The lobster sandwich was just ok. Melanie got the turkey wrap and we all agree she got the best sandwich of the day! The bakery has delightful treats!
This place is very unexpected. My husband had the best sausage roll ever and. I had the Mac and cheese. All was very tasty and you get lots of food. The Mac and cheese could feed 2. Our 9 year old had the chicken pot pie and it was so good we bought 2 more to have for lunch the next day. We visit this spot every time we are in Nova Scotia.
