The San Francisco sisig style street tacos were outta this world!! It’s a beautiful fusion of cultures thou I am still unsure of the meaning of the San Francisco element of the name given that I’ve spent a lot of time in that city and haven’t seen anything like this offering. Despite that it was quite enjoyable! I enjoyed the horchata as it had a creaminess to it that was just what I needed to combat the excessive heat of Manila. I’d say the street tacos I tried were authentic and the prices were fair for the portion taste of the items I paid for!
Where to even start with this place.... I visited last night after seeing it pop up in google search saying that it was one of the best restaurants in the area.... that turned out to be a lie. The food was mediocre, but what else can you expect when ordering Mexican food in the Philippines. However, I was still going to leave it a decent review until the bill came. We ended up having 2 beers each and a few of their combos, but once the bill came we noticed that the bill had extra beers listed on the receipt that we didn't order nor consume. We told the waitress who literally served us the entire meal and she looked at us as if we were dumb and said you did order all of that. Long story short, she lied to us in our faces and over charged us. I can't imagine how many others they do this to on a daily basis. If she was hurting that bad and really needed a few bucks extra, she could've asked and to be fair the tip we were going to leave would've been more! Very dishonest business and I would never recommend it to anyone!
Location: El Chupacabra, Felipe St. Poblacion Makati City Ratings: Food taste and quality: 4 Value for money: 4 Ambience: 4.5 Customer service: 4 Overall: 4 Review: My favorite is the Gonzo Chicken Adobo Garlic Rice ₱300.00). The shredded chicken is tasty and the whole bowl is very filling. Another must try is their Chicken Enchilada not in the photo) and Arroz Ala Cubana ₱293.00). For their beverage, try the Mexican drink, Horchata. Don't order their softdrinks! It's too expensive; triple the price. I got shocked that it was ₱100+ for 1 can of soda! They have two separate areas, the open air and air conditioned. Of course, I opt for the latter. Of course, try their street tacos which they are known for), enchiladas and burritos.
Unpretentious, but authentic. Pricing was good, there are a lot of options (including for those who are vegan). Tacos tasted great, even the juice tasted amazing. I also like the atmosphere and the fact that they don’t play tacky songs in the restaurant. For a moment I was transported to Guadalajara or Mexico City. Neighborhood is also quite chill. I will certainly come back.
