Contribuisci feedbackWhile passing dela Costa St. in Makati, we saw this restaurant with a nice Facade. We've seen in other lists that this is a must try for steak lovers so we decided to indulge. We ordered their ribeye (single order). This was already enough for me and my wife. As for the steak, it was tender and seasoned well. It had the right amount of saltiness and was cooked to our liking. Together with this, we ordered their sides which included their mashed potatoes, truffled mac and cheese and grilled veggies. We also asked for their black truffle sauce. I especially like this sauce when placed over the mashed potato. Overall, we loved the experience. Good food, great ambience and great service. Food - 4.0 Ambience - 5.0 Service - 5.0
Great ambiance and attentive staff. I was impressed with the salt variety too! Very good quality steaks. What surprised me is the cheesecake... unexpectably the best cheesecake Ive had in Manila.
If you are looking for a good high quality steak, this is one of the few places to go. We tried their Matsusaka and it was Amazing! :) Good Ambiance too.
We went to Smith, hoping to celebrate a great day, after receiving good news. We ordered the porterhouse, and got some sides with it. No dry aged steaks available for some reason. The porterhouse was okay, but definitely not great. This would rank behind Mamou, and even Wolfgang. The truffle mac and cheese and the potatoes were good, the asparagus slightly okay, the spinach was really bland. But the service, man, the service, that was something. I should’ve read the reviews here first before wasting my time and money in this place. There were only four tables occupied in the whole restaurant, and at times, we paused to reply to a congratulatory text, or a message on Facebook. And every so often, a waiter would try to swoop in and get our plates, even if we weren’t done yet. A waitress took away my plate, with my fork in it, but I was still working on the mac and cheese, so no biggie, I ate it with the spoon that came with it. But my wife, who still had 2 slices of her steak on it, was trying to pause a bit from the meal, but still wanted to finish her food. 3 different waiters, not once, not twice, not thrice, but four times attempted to take her plate away, even if I kept telling them she wasn’t done. On the fourth attempt, the waiter grabbed the plate where the slice of steak was, and it was only during this time that it really pissed me off. I called for the waiter and asked why they kept on getting her plate, when she clearly wasn’t done yet, and still had food on it. He just looked at me, didn’t respond, and lo and behold, a minute later ,we were given the bill, even if I had not asked for it. This place really gave us the feeling that they didn’t want us there. Talked to the foreigner, told him my story… and he just shrugged his shoulders. No sorry, no apologies, nothing. Man, I really wish I just went a few blocks down and eaten at Elbert’s Steak Room. But this place, I will never ever go back, and will never recommend this place. No wonder the restaurant was more than half empty. Terrible experience.
