The restaurant decor was quaint with the typical pre war home design and oozes old world charm (but not in a musty stifling way). It was nice and quiet perfect for conversations. The wine list was good. Not as extensive as KL's Vintry but still holds its own as it had a cross section of choices that would appeal across a broad spectrum of preference. But. The secret sauce of the place was the hospitality of the manager, Kelvin Tok. We had a great time chatting with him and he obviously knows all things spirits related and made extra effort to keep us comfortable and entertained. And speaking with him, you get strong vibes that this is a guy who loves what he does and this is a magic many F&b operators lack these days. P.s. To the Vintry management team. Heads up, if I open my bar, I'm gonna poach Kelvin from you. Lol
Place really relaxing and in here you can enjoy the wonderful red wine with the nice meals....
A quiet and hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of life in Harmony street adjacent Jonker street. It is part of a boutique hotel owned by the Mamee factory owners but really, what a beautiful property! Parking is accessible but at a stone's throw away. Remarkable service staff who aim to please. Fantastic wine collection. Food was so- so on my particular visit but the overall ambiance more than made up for it.
Service and food was top notch! Claypot lo shi fan is a must try. Kelvin was very attentive, and has clear passion for what he does. Learnt a great deal about wine and whisky from him. 10/10 would recommend visiting it's worth it.
Absolutely fantastic. In Melaka for two nights, and returned here for supper on both nights. Kelvin, the expert sommelier was superbly friendly, helpful, and a delight to speak to. Carl, the chef is amazing; the hokkien mee and loh shi fun were the best we have had, and better than anything we have had in KL, where we are from (i.e., generous amounts of pork lard, deshelled prawns, great taste, etc. Additionally, it is located right next to Jonker Street so an all around great location for those visiting.
