You order at the counter and get a buzzer to pick up the food when its ready. They have tables inside the store as well as near the counter area. I did like the chicken and waffles. It also came with coleslaw. It was a nice quick meal before a flight.
Have been here for a pre-flight meal twice in the last two months. The first time was just for the novelty of trying chicken and waffles and it was sooo good. Today we stopped in again, this time to try the burgers and was just as good as our first visit. Lady working front of house is lovely as well. Beer on tap, fresh coffee and great kai. Will definitely be back on our next trip.
It was good for the price we paid $20 for the burger, curly fries and a drink. The reason I gave it 4 stars is really the highlight of the restaurant- the waffle is quite tasteless and my friend who chose standard bun was correct. I would have expected some herbs or garlic or salt flavour , but it was just batter. Anyway. The rest was great including environmental choice of cuttlery. A for that
The fried chicken is definitely the best thing about this place. The waffle was dry and cakey, not appealing at all. However, the fried chicken was very crispy, moist, and delicious. Together, they made an okay dish (even a bad waffle is okay when its got some maple syrup on it). If you’re an American (like me), don’t get your hopes up for southern friend chicken and waffles like back home. But considering it’s a chain restaurant in New Zealand, I am happy with my dining experience here. Staff was friendly and food was prepared quickly as well.
The food is fresh and tasty. I got the chicken and waffles. Would eat here again. BUT.... the waffle is too sweet, would suggest removing the sugar from the recipe. The maple syrup makes it sweet enough. Also, trying to eat fried chicken and waffles with a wooden spork and knife is just painful! Please get some metal cutlery for your customers, your current option for dine in is just wasteful!!
