Very nice pizza place in the middle of Jungbusch. the Italian family managing the place is very nice and the cook also pasta and other Italian food.

Hands down the best Italian food in Mannheim. Being a student from Malta in Mannheim proved to be difficult with regards to food. Apart from take aways and Turkish kebab or pide joints it was difficult to find a genuine family owned restaurant with home made food. Gianni's solved this problem. It is a little hole in the wall owned by a Sicilian family serving up delicious food from the old country. Their pizza, pasta and salads are amazing! Prices are also generous, for 5-6 euros you can get a satisfying lunch or dinner.Service is fast and friendly, although I always spoke Italian with them so I cannot comment on how they serve Germans. Overall they are hard working and dedicated people though, so there shouldn't be much of a difference.All in all, if you're looking for good Italian food in Mannheim, Gianni's is the only place to go! If you feel like washing it down with a good, strong espresso, check out the Italian coffee bars in Beilstrasse too. They compensate for the lack of good coffee in Mannheim for sure.
