Loved the Falafal Katik! A good option for Vegetarians. Should definitely try! Similar to Kathi Roll.
The katik roll is a must try. The dish is juicy and filled to the edge. It is really rich filling and taste, definitely worth the money.
Yesterday we were in the Katik Döner, which is somewhat different from other Döner shops in Mannheim. The reviews of google, are very good, reason enough for the long lasting in the Katik to come back and see a little better on the fingers. First impression, inside everything looks clean at first glance, the interior decor held in red white. Hot, white walls and benches covered with red artificial leather. On the left side of the counter is a 2.50 meter refrigerator with soft drinks and this Turkish milk drink. Alcohol is not given, no, obviously not because of religion, but because one wants to contribute to children and youth protection. For me, children under 7 years of age are not entitled to buy something in Germany. I ordered a catech with veal, just like my colleague, he also takes the menu that brings a savings of 50 cents to the individual purchase. Payment is made at the counter, the bowl is placed after preparation (one can also provide). The first bite of Katik was promising. Very good veal taste, delicious little. But the meat taste was very fast. For half time, I only tasted vegetables, but in combination with the Döner Eipfannkuchen not bad. Good: The various sauces are homemade and free from dyes, preservatives or other additives. Not good: meat is Halal certified, i.e. for the animal is a foreign word without stress. I'm not a friend of killing an animal without anesthesia and with full consciousness. Also not good: We sell fresh diner meat every day and use nothing from the day before is actually self-evident and not worth a name. Unless there are localities in Mannheim that do this? Conclusion: Just because of the Halal history for me a single visit I did not know that before, only now pushed through research on the Internet. Otherwise, the taste was very good, precisely because of the self-made bread bottle, which reminds very much of the German egg pancakes.
This may be the best dönner I've ever had. I always order the hänchen katik. It's true that the atmosphere isn't great: it's like a sandwich shop; not a place for lingering. I'd suggest getting your order and strolling to the nearby park (the one with the water tower) to eat by the fountains.
