The Club At Ocala Preserve

To be such a beautiful restaurant, it's a shame the service, menu, and food quality were so lacking. We reserved a table for our anniversary, arrived early and had a cocktail at the bar. The hostess attempted to seat us in a half booth directly behind the stools where we were sitting (next to the bar) This was not acceptable for a romantic dinner, so she seated us in a full size booth next to the loud kitchen. We ordered a bottle of wine, that was not in stock, so they offered a substitute. We waited 30 minutes with bread plates in front of us, then had to ask for bread. When our steaks arrived, the New York Strip was served in a bowl on top of a mountain of plain fries, the filet was smothered in sauce, brussels sprouts hard and extremely dry, baby reds were peeled and also super dry. The NY strip was ordered medium rare, the filet medium, and both came out well done. What should have been a romantic anniversary dinner was sad and a huge fail!

Love this Place!!! Great for casual dining or for a celebration. I've been here for brunch and for dinner. Both outstanding. They have a very nice selection of food and drinks.

Our first at the restaurant we went to celebrate a birthday. It was busy but not out of control busy. We waited 30 minutes to put our order in after the waiter came by with the menus then waited another 35 minutes before the food came. The food was good but the red wine was warm (much warmer then room temp) When I booked the reservation I said it was for a birthday the only mention about it was when the server said so I hear it 's your birthday that was it. Very disappointing.

Mixed reactions to our experience. A limited menu that was over-priced given the ambiance. Food was served hot. Our server was attentive and personable and made up for the shortcomings. Martinis were poorly made. We brought our wine and paid the corkage which proved to be a smart decision. However, for $15 a bottle given the ambiance, we thought this was expensive. In short, we have little motivation to return given the distance and lack of value.

Service was excellent, as was the wine selection. I got the blackened fish sandwich and it was ok. Not very blackened, and too much sauce. Sides and salads were good. Chicken club sandwich was very good.
