Kara Mia - Markham

I don't usually rate 5 starts to the restaurants, but Kara Mia's food was awesome and deserves this rating. Their steak is amazing, and saffron Putin was out of this world. Staff is also really nice and provides the best service.

This Italian restaurant is a great choice for a date night or family dinner! The staff is very friendly and always available to assist with any needs, such as providing a new fork or refilling water. They offer a special saffron cream sauce that is used in various dishes like pastas, steaks, and poutine. I recommend trying something with this sauce. Dietary restrictions: Halal.

Normally I don’t write such negative reviews but my experience was nothing short of awkward and embarrassing.I went with my family because this place was great years ago, however it has quickly succumbed to the tier of fast food.The food: The food is not freshly prepared, the chicken breast on the pasta was so thin I laughed when I saw it. It was also distastefully chewy which shows how little meat they used because of how cardboard it felt. The pasta was way too spicy, I understand it’s fusion and not authentic Italian but it didn’t even taste like penne. Not to mention the quantity of the food, it was so poor in comparison to the asking price . The bread alone was 2 slices for $7-8!!!! I asked for Parmesan on top of my pasta and they declined and said it’s additional to the cost of the cheap pasta because it’s “included in the price” I mean seriously? Not only is there no complimentary bread, asking customers to pay for Parmesan is something I’ve never seen at an Italian establishment. So embarrassing.Ambiance: The interior of the restaurant was dirty and unkempt, the foyer carpet was gross, however the prayer area was really touching to see.The service: Not great. At all.This will be my last time coming here

The food and service at this restaurant were both amazing. We were a large group and the staff treated us exceptionally well. Thank you! I highly recommend trying the saffron poutine.
