I found the service fine but rather slow at Ramona's, even though the only other customers seemed to be a flow of takeout (pickup) orders. Ontop of the regular wait, they messed up my order, so I had to wait longer for my lunch. I would possible return one day for breakfast (for now I just order at Bagel Nash, owners of Le Delice right outside in the plaza concourse), but not any time soon. The deep fried food and burgers were good, but don't expect trimmings at Ramona's for free. I paid for every alteration to my menu-order, though they were for reasons of allergies.
Right in the local neighborhood, this is a great little lunch spot. Good selection, great quality, fast service and reasonable prices. My personal favorite is the Breakfast Shnitzel and make sure the eggs are runny!
We decided to try something new for my birthday and since I love breakfast food, we were excited to try out Ramona's kitchen. The place was very clean and beautifully decorated with wooden walls and tile ornamentation. The server was incredibly sweet and attentive. There was only two people that I could see working, the cook, which was behind an open counter so you could see everything that was going on as he cooked and the server. The food was very good and you can tell they use very high quality ingredients. The coffee was excellent! It was a little pricy for breakfast but for the quality and service it was worth it. Great place!
We love diners and this is one of our all time favourites. Carlo and Ramona are excellent hosts and cooks. The food is consistently fresh and delicious and the portions are generous. Our favourites: their homemade hamburgers, eggs Benedict, tri-colour home fries, and yummy omelettes.
We found ourselves with a free morning and wanted a little upscale breakfast. We heard that Romana's opened up nearby and wanted to try it.The restaurant was empty when we arrived with one guy manning the place.First of all, the decor was nice. The wood on the wall and the very clean open kitchen was impressive. The breakfast menu prices was fairly expensive compared to other joints nearby and it did not include the cost of a cup of coffee. The coffee, however, was quite good.We ordered the classic breakfast and the french toast. The food was average and the plating was not all that appetizing. The french toast was 4 pieces of fried buttered bread put on a large plate with nothing else, not even a small piece of green garnish. I know that we eat the food and not the visuals but plating is so important. The place only has starch and proteins. We always have some fruits with our breakfast and they do not serve any. All in all, the place is average and disappointing - for a $35 breakfast. Perhaps their other meals are better, however, I don't think we will be back.
