Sam's Cafe - Markham

Great atmosphere! Ahmad is absolutely wonderful. We ordered the house-made tiramisu, tea and coffee- they were delicious! Vibe is cute and cozy!

My friend and I wanted to meet up before Christmas. She was headed over to a Yelp elite experience in my neighbourhood. I had already dropped by a few days earlier, but was game keeping her company. We agreed to meet at 2 pm. I realized an hour before meeting up with her that the place opens at 3 pm. I had dropped by at 4 pm, so I had no problem with getting there when it was open. Anyway, we had to find another place to hang out before then. My friend texted me when she got there. She said that she was at Sam's Cafe that she had found, indulging in a coffee and fries. I was at Rexall getting some items. I said that I'd be over soon and drove over. There was street parking. I parked steps away from Sam's Cafe and walked in. I said hi to my friend. I was then mesmerized by the dessert display case. I took off my jacket where my friend was and we talked for a bit. After hearing about how yummy her fries were, I thought that grabbing a bite to eat before heading to her Yelp elite experience was in order. What caught my eye looking at the menu was the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. It spoke to me. I spoke up and ordered it. Trying to find a drink started off to be a challenge. The man at the counter had a binder with drink photos. I first selected a matcha lemonade, but he let me know that he didn't have it. I was bummed. I reversed things and asked what drinks were available in the binder. One of them was the iced hibiscus tea. Sold! I paid using a debit card. I tipped. I was done. I went over to chat and catch up with my friend. The nice man came over with my sandwich and drink. He said that the former was fully loaded. It was! I loved my Philly cheesesteak sandwich. If you are a purist, you will likely hate that it doesn't have Cheese Whiz in it. If you like mozzarella and cheddar, you will love it. The bread was perfect to house so much tender beef, onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, and cheese. Yum! The iced hibiscus was excellent. It was on the smaller size cup-wise. However, it was refreshing and not sugary at all. I used the washroom before we left. It was clean and a single stall. It's such a cute place to take photos, especially by the wall of flowers. The chandeliers and lighting are gorgeous. There is free wifi. There are also so many other items on the menu that I'd love to try in future. Sam came out of the kitchen when we were about to leave. I thanked her for the delicious food. She was thrilled to hear it. I thanked both folks as we left. It's a decent eatery. I can't wait to return. (481)

I came upon this super cute little cafe before heading in for another Yelp Elite Event nearby. I came way early and was very lucky to find this coffee and eatery nearby. I went in and had the choice of seats to myself. I checked out the menu boards and menu binder. They had a wide selection of hot and cold beverages, sandwiches, burgers and fries. Keeping in mind that I has actually come here to sample other goods, I settled on some regular brew coffee and a side of fries. Sam is very friendly and accommodating. I could have my milk mixed with the coffee during brewing or on the side. I had a choice between ketchup and house sauce to go with the fries. I'm glad I opted for the sauce which was similar to an aioli. The coffee was hot but didn't burn my tongue. It wasn't too strong which I prefer to the burnt tasting stuff out of some eateries. The place is clean and fresh looking. There's a takeout menu available and they also offer free Wi-Fi which is great. So glad I was able to find and grab a here. Would definitely come back.

Read before you order!1- Dynamite chicken: chicken is dry and tiny2- Philly steak sandwich: tastes like canned beef, unfortunately nothing tasty about it3- cake pops: not professionally done, I make better cake pops at home. The cake inside it is old and is going directly to the garbage.4- Honey cake: regular flat cake, nothing like a honey cake5- Lotus Ferrero cheesecake are ridiculously made, no flavor, cheaply made.I paid almost $70 for food which I didn’t eat, waste of money. Please know that your customers have tasted better flavors elsewhere and they picked to eat from your store, you need to work on the taste and quality of your food or simply do not go into this sector cause you’ll loose due to such reviews.Please go to culinary school before starting a food business, this has been the worst experience I have ever had with food internationally!I give many five stars as well and I have rated your food with 1 star because it is tasteless, you shouldn’t try to blame the reviewers or finding mistakes in others rather you should look at attracting them with tasteful dishes and find put why exactly they’re giving you less stars.You have a healthcare degree! How is that related to food! That probably explains why you couldn’t respond to the details I provided in my review! DoorDash doesn’t refund, unfortunately!
