My mum loved the bruschetta pizza. Caesar salad was huge and the hot chips were good with a generous serve of aioli. Certainly not fancy food but fresh and filling. The restaurant was packed out so is obviously very popular with locals. The staff were very friendly which is always a plus. Would like to give 3.5 stars as it was better than average but not quite excellent.
Went there for lunch prior to a show at the Brolga theatre. Yes the place was busy, but they only had two cooks on so it took 45 minutes to get lunch. Not a real problem as we left plenty of time but when the food came..... I chose the curry pie with chips and my other half had the steak s/w. Pie was the worst thing I have ever eaten, and I have never knocked back one before! Chips were absolutely cold. Her steak was on some sort of brioche bun or something similar which fell apart as it seemed to be wet. Again cold chips. Surely they know that they will be busy when shows are on and they should cater for this. They seemed swamped and did not know how to handle the rush. Would not go again.
Saturday night and the place was packed. However, once the meals were ordered they came out very quickly. Chicken Parma and a Mexican Chicken Parma. Both were tender chicken breasts with ample topping. Side salad was lightly dressed and plate was finished with crispy fries. Delicious meal. 10/10.
The restaurant was extremely busy when we went on a Thursday night. We enjoyed tasty steaks and sides, followed by delicious espresso coffee. The service was very friendly.
My family and I had guests from New South Wales visiting, and it was our final dinner together. Unfortunately, Portside was closed, so we opted for a pub meal. This turned out to be a regrettable decision, as the food was subpar. When asked how I wanted my pan-seared salmon cooked, I was confused by the options of rare/medium/well done. The dish that arrived was disappointing - an overcooked piece of salmon on a bed of cabbage coleslaw drenched in sweet soy sauce, accompanied by a gloopy pile of rice. While they did offer a refund, the service was lacking and I left feeling unsatisfied and hungry.
