Deli offers take away sandwiches etc perfect for a picnic. Gift shop has some good local crafts and nearby restaurant, petrol kiosk and Tim's Express mean you can get a lot done in one stop. RV parking available. Vegetarian options in deli.
My wife and I were amazed by all of the delicious, fresh fruit at Masstown Market. This will be a regular stop on all of our trips to Nova Scotia in the future.
We found this spot many years ago on our way through NS. We stopped on our way to Halifax then again back from Cape Breton. We came again to enjoy their famous Seafood Pie and other delicious lunch options. The seafood pie is packed with lobster, fish and scallops, then covered in seafood chowder as gravy. The chowder is full of the same seafood, so you may, as I did, receive extra lobster tails!!! Had ice cream too. Super affordable. Simply cafeteria style dining in the market itself. Staff are quick to clean tables and are helpful when ordering. Wife and daughter had sandwiches, soup and salad. Son had lobster roll and it was heaping with fresh lobster. Also picked up fresh picked wild blueberries!!
We love the masstown market, we usually stop at least one way of not both when we go back to Nova Scotia. Some times we eat there or if we are in a rush we buy a picnic for in the car. The selection of foods is always great and everyone can usually find something they want to eat.
This is a must do when driving by. There is an amazing assortment of fresh food, deli food, fresh baked goods, meats and cheeses. You can eat in the deli/grocery store section or at the restaurant that looks like a lighthouse right next door. Have an ice cream on a hot day or just browse. It is always busy here.
