I had a strong craving for a bagel sandwich today and learned that this place was open until 5 PM. Since it was already 2:30 and most other places closed by 3, I decided to give it a try. That turned out to be a mistake. As I looked around the shop, I noticed there was only one bagel on display—a plain bagel. I ordered what should be a standard offering at any bagel shop: a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. To my surprise, I was told that they had just turned off the grill, so I couldn’t get anything hot. Despite my confusion, I was quite hungry and opted for a turkey sandwich on an Asiago bagel instead. After I paid, a staff member came out and informed me that they were out of Asiago bagels. This was frustrating, especially since I had paid extra for a specialty bagel. In the end, I settled for a plain bagel and ended up with an overpriced, plain turkey sandwich. Overall, this place is a terrible excuse for a bagel shop. It deserves a 0-star rating.
I ordered an Asiago bagel with a flavored cream cheese and it was $6.29. No way should a bagel be that much even with inflation. Their prices have nearly doubled.
Keep in mind that you need to request your bagel to be toasted, as it's not included even with breakfast sandwiches. They serve hot eggs and melted cheese on a cold bagel, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it was something we didn't know as first-time customers. We returned our bagels to be reheated, but the images show how I found the bagels when I opened the foil—still cold. I'm not sure if the manager was absent that day or if the staff were new and untrained, as they seemed unfamiliar with bagels. If I hadn't told you what was on the bagel, would you even recognize it? Moreover, the cream cheese that was spread on my bagel was not very tasty; it felt like they might have used the same spatula for every container. It also tasted a bit off—perhaps it was expired? I attempted to wipe it off, but that didn’t help. I won’t be returning.
Why so extremely expensive, I don't believe you're shipping water from NY to make the bagels.Another question, why doesn't the cashier ever give a itemized receipt ??? I never know with a visit what the charges are until total is expressed. Please review and explain. Thank you !
