I was so grateful that they were open on Thanksgiving morning that I could pick them up. Rui and Maria Lu are the kindest owners. Rui is from Portugal and Maria Lu is from Brazil. I love that they have items from both countries. The Pastéis de Belém that we had was just as good as the ones we had in Portugal. I am shocked by some of these reviews about their rudeness when the owners were two of of the kindest, friendliest people, I had ever met.
Yummy stuff! The “cheese balls” are similar to buñuelos
For me this is a good place to have a breakfast but I’m from Brazil and there is some Brazilian bread that I love and some other things! I think if you are not from Brazil you should try some of the bread you maybe like it.
I was waiting to get a tattoo and popped in for breakfast. The sweet bread and yucca slice was delicious and service was friendly and prompt. I would definitely eat here again if I was in the area!
Amazing little Brazilian spot, great for coffee, breakfast sandwiches, authentic pasteries, and of course those amazing little cheese bread balls everyone loves at Brazilian steakhouses. The owners are extremely nice and you can tell it's a nice little tight knit community of regulars that come to the shop. Authentic empanadas, coxinha (croquette basically), amazing custard tarts.. give this place a try. It's tucked away in a small shopping center behind stacks pancakes in Matthews. Parking can get a little packed but I've still never had an issues getting a spot.
