Rotana Restaurant & Cafe - Maylands

Good for a dinner, decent value meals in the front half of the restaurant, really chilled vibe. Decent service, good vegetarian options too, and excellent food quality, as everything made there and has the homemade feel to it. Tried the fresh juices which are good too, served with paper straws in a big glass (no plastic, hooray! . Really appreciate the owners keeping this place consistently clean and tidy out front, and the food quality constant. Tastes like authentic Middle Eastern Cuisine, as described.

These are the reasons why I would to give a 1 star review: 1. Requested a 6 people booking on the phone and was advised that they are “full”. Arrived 17 minutes after and found the restaurant half empty. 2. Upon arrival we were demanded to make a purchase in advance, before even taking a seat. 3. If we were to buy a shisha, we had to buy 4 of them for 6 people. On our question “why to many” we were told that “what else did you expect in Australia?”. It was very interesting to experience this feeling. 4. We were trying to make our choice for about 1.5 minutes, but were then asked to hurry up or leave the spot for the next customer. Now, I would like to express my feelings in a poem. 6 shishas for 4 people. It’s not in easy task, man. Inhale so much smoke- you can end up in a casket. It is not for every one-just like the style dubstep. So much steam could fuel the rockets of Ilon Mask, yeah.

Quiet night so 4 of us virtually had restaurant to ourselves. Food was generous and ok. Service a bit slow. Suited us as we drank our wine and chatted. Didn’t feel hurried at all. Worth a visit.

Don’t try this place it is disgusting! They serve you food that is cheap quality out of cans or packets. Their potatoes were green because they were old their meat was dry and stinky. Stay away you will get sick. Oh

Titled as a Lebanese restaurant it also served great pasta and a variety of chicken schnitzel dishes. Service was fast, inside eating area had a nice feel and the outside covered area was beautiful. Lovely lighting and a really nice atmosphere overall. We ate there twice in 4 days, taking friends along the second time and everyone enjoyed their meals.
