I had Tuna, Salmon, White Tail, Red Snapper, Mackerel, Escolar, Masago, Ikura, Tamago, Uni, Amaebi (sweet shrimp), and Eel. They also have seasonal specialties like Uni (sea urchin), Otoro (fatty tuna), and fresh wasabi, but they were out of wasabi this time, so I had to make do with the regular kind. The presentation was superb, but what truly impressed me was the thoughtful arrangement of the sushi on the plate. It began with the more delicate and clean flavors, like tuna, and transitioned to the richer umami flavors toward the eel. This really highlights why Yasuke is the best in the RGV. It's worth noting that unlike American or Mexican sushi, some selections here may have unique textures and very pronounced umami flavors. The creamy, slightly slimy texture of Uni isn't for everyone, but I love it, and very few places offer it. My wife ordered the Yasuke Futomaki roll and miso soup, but I was too full to try her roll, haha. I've had the miso soup many times; it's solid but doesn't stand out for me. I personally would prefer a bit more wakame in it. I didn’t order them this time, but I highly recommend trying their hot teas and desserts, especially the Korean chocolate cake—it's incredible! Their seasonal drinks are usually fantastic too. While it can be on the pricier side, I definitely think it's worth it. My wife and I have spent over $300 on a multi-course omakase for two before, and we did not regret it one bit. If you're looking for authentic Japanese cuisine and high-quality sushi, Yasuke is absolutely the place to go in the valley. Here’s what we ordered: - Chasu pork - 12 different Nigiri - 1 Yasuke Futomaki roll - Miso soup - Soft drinks Our total came to $70.
Terrible food. This was the worst sushi we've ever had. The service was decent, but our waitress couldn’t even distinguish between real crab and imitation crab. We will definitely not be returning. Food: 1, Service: 2, Atmosphere: 2.
The seaweed salad was delightful, and the rolls were outstanding. Our server, Gabby, provided excellent service. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience. We dined in for dinner, and the price per person was between $20–30. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all a perfect 5 out of 5!
