Contribuisci feedbackFrom the moment we booked the table everything was easy and delightful. Despite booking late on Valentine's Day they were able to accommodate our table of three. We were met at the door with a smile and the easy ambiance never stopped despite how busy the restaurant became later in the evening. It seemed we never were without an attentive staff member to cater to our every needs. The wine list was extensive and reasonable, found an America Chard to please my wife and a Merlot for the guys. The food was extremely good, lamb shanks, Caribbean Sampler, Ahi tuna; salivating as I write this. Finished the meal with exquisite aged rum in healthy pours into cognac glasses. We can't wait to go back.
We have been enjoying Thanksgiving dinner at Blanchard's for over 15 years. In the past, they served a fabulous traditional turkey dinner that we loved. Unfortunately, after the 2008 crash, they stopped offering it, and we still miss it. However, they have recently opened the Beach Shack next door which serves delicious food with a simpler presentation. This year, we felt that it was not quite at the level of previous years, but we still had a good experience. Despite this, we plan to return next year in hopes that it will once again become one of our favorite places to eat.
We were seated and had to wait for 10 minutes before the wait staff acknowledged us. No one even poured water for us. My husband had to go to the hostess and ask for service. I understand that it was busy, but first impressions are important. I would suggest that the wait staff greet their tables promptly, pour water, introduce themselves, and inform customers of their availability. When the staff finally came to our table, the server simply asked, "Are you ready?" We were worried at first, but things improved from there. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly.
Of all the upscale outdoor dining in Anguilla, this turned out to be the least enjoyable. There was no breeze as it not right on the beach so it was uncomfortably warm at 8pm. Again, the other restaurants managed to be configured to have a breeze. Spent $200 for cocktails, glass of wine, appetizer and dinner for two, about $50 than the other places like Straw Hat or Mango's. The service and food was just ok and we left thinking we had just sort of an ok experience
This was my third visit to Blanchards and once again, the meal was outstanding. I ordered the crusted mahi mahi for my main course and the coconut chocolate shell for dessert, both of which were top-notch. Blanchards truly offers the best food in Anguilla.
