This was my second visit to this restaurant, hoping to give it another chance after receiving rude service the first time. I informed the server that it was my mom's birthday when we arrived, just jokingly saying she was the birthday girl. My mom usually doesn't order dessert when dining out, but I asked her if she wanted to have dessert there or get ice cream after we left. The server mentioned they had butterscotch cake when we inquired, and since my mom loves butterscotch, she agreed to order it. However, a few minutes later, the server returned to inform us that the kitchen had closed and they couldn't serve us the warm dessert. I was disappointed, as I used to work as a server for 10 years and would always inform late diners about the kitchen's closing time. I had mentioned it was my mom's birthday and felt the server should have reminded us about dessert before the kitchen closed. It's the little details that make a dining experience memorable. I also spoke with the owner, advising him to inform customers about the kitchen's last call. Despite these issues, the food was decent, but the overall experience was lacking. After two unsatisfactory visits, I have decided not to return. It's not just about the food, but the entire dining experience that matters. (I also informed the owner that we were charged for refills, but he didn't seem concerned about rectifying the situation.)
The food was disappointing. I ordered the Farmhouse Skillet. They did not put cheese on it. The eggs were extremely runny and the sausages, red onions, and pepper looked boiled and undercooked. My husband ordered the house omelet, but it didn’t look appetizing and the taste was alright. The coffee was decent. Giving 3 starts instead of 2 because the waitress took my egg back into the kitchen to cook it. However, we will not be coming back.
I absolutely adore House! Their brunch is amazing. It's a fantastic and inviting spot with delicious food and a lovely atmosphere both inside and outside. I highly suggest trying the Farmhouse Hash for brunch! I like to add hollandaise sauce and caramelized onions (as shown in the picture) and it's one of my top meals there. Perfect for groups, couples, families, and anyone really.
LOVE House!! Tuna melt w side of crispy potatoes is the way to go! Or the shakshuka! Have never had a bad dish. They get busy and won’t seat your party til everyone arrives, just FYI.
