Pizza Hut - Medicine Hat

Close to a few of the hotels, we were hauling a trailer with a heavy piece of equipment so couldn't go far.

The pizza was fine, sure, met expectations, lacking in sauce and cheese, but generally mediocre and definitely the best part of the experience. The pasta however, was awful. Gross. Actually inedible. The service was also bad, and confusing. We had 4 different servers and none of them seemed to be able to communicate with each other. Our table was dirty when we sat down, so we were moved to another table, but were not given menus. So the server brings us menus and then hovers as we awkwardly try to rush to choose a drink. Also all of the food came out at different times, and was placed in front of the wrong person each time. The birthday girl got her food last and we had to ask three separate times for her garlic toast. Not a single plate was cleared, so at the end of the meal the table was covered in messy plates and to-go boxes. They brought the bill without us asking (and we would have had another beer) but never specified if they would come back to take payment or if we should pay at the front. We ended up paying up front on the way out. I also have to add, it's generally nice when a server brings water or at least asks. No one ever asked how the food actually was either - or if there was something perhaps the matter with the uneaten pasta that we did not request to have wrapped up. Half a star is probably a better rating really. As an aside, the parking lot was totally full and there were only 3 tables inside. They either have all the staff taking the prime spots, or not monitoring their lot. Our family certainly won't ever return, especially when there is actual good pizza out there waiting for me to eat it.

I have been a fan of Pizza Hut for decades, unfortunately this experience has spoiled it all. The "meat lovers" pan pizza was genuinely awful. The appearance was of a gravel road sprayed with a tar sealant. The sausage was burnt and had a very strange taste. There was a hint of pepperoni but none of the other advertised ingredients could be found. Inspecting the slices from the side it was obvious that it had been overcooked as the ingredients had separated from the crust. Overall I am very disappointed, the meal was not worth the premium price I am happy to pay for good food. Unfortunately this was a take-out so could not complain to the management directly.

After driving all day we ordered pizza in advance to take back to the hotel and it was done just right and really good. It hit the spot and delicious.
