Resembling the Pho 24 chain in Saigon, Vietnam, this Vietnamese restaurant on Spencer Street in Melbourne's CBD is a welcome addition. The modern yet traditional interior is clean and inviting. Orders are placed at the counter and you receive a buzzer for notification. I tried the bún thịt nướng chả giò (vermicelli noodles with grilled pork and spring rolls), which was served generously with fresh and abundant salad. I am excited to taste the pho on my next visit.
After attending the AFL game at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night, we decided to dine at this restaurant. I had verified earlier in the day that their closing time was 10:30. However, when we arrived at 10:10, we were met with closed doors and staff instructing everyone to leave. It is important for businesses to adhere to their advertised hours of operation. This was very disappointing.
Whether you have been to Vietnam or not to experience the delicious pho you will enjoy Pho 24. It is essentially fast food Vietnamese style. The menu is simple and centres around the beautiful noodle soup. You can choose the type of meat base that...you wish as well as the serving size. There are other simple side dishes such as rice paper rolls. Once your order is taken it takes no longer than 5 minutes for your order to be filled. Select a table, grab your cutlery and enjoy. There are pots of herbs and scissors so that you can add extra if you wish, plus a variety of sauces available. No need to buy drinks as there is an urn of wonderful tea available. This is an inexpensive way to grab a quick meal that is not only good for you but economical too. Enjoy!
Ate here twice during our stay. Being an Asian, we were so excited to find rice in their menu. Having been deprived of rice for 2 weeks, we indulged ourselves in their rice menu. The food was great. My friends enjoyed their Pho. Value for...money.
