Contribuisci feedbackHi All,I went to Table By S for a Korean BBQ on Sunday for my Son-in laws birthday celebration.First impression on walking in the place was that the decor was really nice the place was very well presented, but that is where it all ended. We got there bang on 6pm and settled in for what we thought was going to be a great nights eating as none of had experienced Korean food before. The place was reasonably empty maybe 8 to 12 people spread out over two to three tables so it wasn't super busy.I had one of those Living Social deals for dinner so there were 12 adults and 5 kids at our table.we where there an hour before we were even approached by staff to take any orders.once they came over and set us up with the cookers we were then dished out the condiments to do our BBQing, the amount of food that was placed in front of us wouldn't have left anyone satisfied especially whern they brought out the seafood which comprised one prawn and two scallops per cooker.the word around the table was I think we'll have to stop for a pizza on the way home form all of the guests at our table which most did i myself with my wife went to the Indian restaurant around the corner to get some food to fill the void when we got home.Having said all that the food was extremely tasty, the only issue was that it was in stingy portions which wouldn't and didn't fill my 12 yr old let alone the adults with me.If I was to offer any advice to this establishment it would be 1) if you have a large booking on top of your regular clients ADD more Staff to cater for them rather than making them wait 1 hr to order and then wait between measly sized courses.2) Give your customers decent sized courses so that the wait between them doesn't make them want for a pizza later.it shouldn't matter if you are regular paying customer walking in form the street or a customer with coupons/vouchers you need to treat them all the same.
If you love Korean fried chicken, then go for it, because they have one of the best Korean fried chicken in Melbourne, I think the chef has his/her own recipe to create the special marinated sauce, plus the chicken was perfectly cooked. Grilled wagyu beef is another thing to go for, just around $40 very good valued.
I really enjoyed this. We went in a group of 6 which is a great way to experience the variety and quality Korean tapas. The novel BBQ set up in the middle of the table was great and the staff were friendly and efficient, most helpful. The house wine is good. We stayed on and had soju rounds till late.
Probably not very traditional Korean food but interesting, yummy and entertaining to see the meat being grilled and aflame (like a savour bomb alaska experience!). Very hospitable, friendly and entertaining young man serving us and doing the grilling. We had 4 tapas, Kimchi Aranchini( fried rice balls, very crispy, with kimchi and cheese inside served on baby spinach) really nice, very popular was our favourite. The least enjoyable was the simmered pork belly, found it rather bland and fatty. For the main we had angus beef cooked on a stone grill infront of us, it was so tender and we enjoyed watching the young man setting the beef on fire. We had a deal voucher so it was good value. However the small bowl of rice was pretty pricey for $3 each! The good service was well worth a tip. Highly recommended for an experience of westernised Korean food. At least you can try their favourite Kim Chi (pickled cabbage, very garlicky!)
Good atmosphere, interesting blend of Korean and Italian foodSean, the chef owner is nice and passionate about his place.
