We sat outdoors on lovely deck chairs and enjoyed a drink facing the Yarra River. It was beautiful weather and Melbournians were embracing the restaurants and bars in the area. Menu needs to be updated as it indicated a happy hour which was not available on Saturday. Overall a great spot to sit and relax and enjoy a drink.
Not sure how we ended up here. Great atmosphere. Helpful staff. Great food. Can recommend the crunchy Korean fried chicken yum. Reasonable prices for food and drinks. Will be back
We nearly walked past the bar because it has minimal signage but I think it's based on a speak-easy concept so it shouldn't be obvious. After weaving through a curtained corridor, you step into a dimly lit but inviting bar. There are ceiling-mounted swing chairs with rocking chair areas, booths, larger high tables and standard tables where you can dine and have a drink. The music is sultry with a great beat but doesn't drown out conversation. The staff are attentive, friendly and happy to make menu suggestions if you can't decide what you want. I went for the cocktails and wasn't disappointed. The stand out for me was the French Baiser- a champagne and blueberry liquor blend with a frozen sphere of blueberry liquor-infused ice The menu is share plate inspired and although a small menu, there is enough variety to satisfy the munchies. I had the grilled calamari and loved it.
Great cocktails, atmosphere and initially service however i think the staff, or at least one of them, needs to learn what responsible service of alcohol means. My friend and i had 2 cocktails, then were joined by a few friends. I went to the bar to buy 2 gin and sodas for my friend and i and was refused service by a very young man because you 've all been drinking cocktails and we can 't serve you any more . I said that my friend and i had only had 2. We werent drunk. We weren 't falling over or being abusive. It ruined an otherwise great night out for a few women catching up after a long time.
A little hidden, but a great place to visit before or after the theatre. Can get a bit rowdy, but friendly service, great space
