I had the salmon with a Thai barbecue salad and pasta salad, and my wife had fabulous chickens with a baked kartoffel. the chocolate cake was also exceptional!
Husband was in the mood for prime rib and so we made the trek (almost 45 minutes) to wolfchase and it was worth the ride. that warn is a big eat. we would have realized that we had ordered less courts. first, the appetizer grilled artichokes, beautiful, but scary! but so good. we decided to dress each on an salat with home made dresses and oh, young, it was so big. it is almost a meal in itself. beautifully built with fresh ingredients and crispy crows. for our main course we had the main nativity, medium size, with smashed kartoffels, the au jou was perfect! very crowded and popular even at 2:15 in the afternoon. service was exceptional and I saw them with some, we say, difficult customers to do. I had to laugh when I ordered a couple of baked potato as an appetizer and sent them back and complained to the manager. they received a newly baked potato and their duck then contained a baked potato. I think they like kartoffels. I was impressed by the whole experience.
I had a good experience. it took a while to get a place, but once we got a place, everything went well. I like the atmosphere. our waitress chelsea was so nice. I've been ripping and my friend has spelled out. the chocolate cake was very good. I recommend it.
So this had definitely become our go to neighborhood restaurant. Here we are for lunch with a friend, we had reservations for 1130 and were seated right away. Our server,Brandon, polite and pleasant. We had the avocado bomb for appetizer. Ordered lasagna which was delicious! The serving was plentiful. I had the swordfish with shrimp and heirloom tomato. I almost asked for some bread to mop up the remnants on the plate it was sooo good. The fish was cooked perfectly. There was also a classic cheese burger ordered, also cooked to perfection. The bun was lightly buttered and toasted just right. Our guest, who had never been here commented he will be back again. Top everything off with delicious mimosas, this was an excellent lunch.
It's been over a decade since I visited J. Alexander's (before Redland's was in the name). I'm glad I went back. Although the restaurant had a wait, we were seated before the quoted time. Our server was attentive and the food arrived quicker than anticipated. I had the salad, which was loaded. I asked for grilled chicken instead of fried and they were happy to accommodate. The thin slices of chicken were warm, flavourful, tender and moist. I don't know if they make the honey mustard dressing, but it was some of the best I've had. My sweetie had the New York strip, cooked medium with a loaded baked potato. The steak was cooked to perfection! He has announced at least 5 times that we will be returning to J Alexander's at least once a month so he can get the best steak ever.
