From the very beginning, the communication with their management was great. They were responsive and helpful. We had a party of 27 and reserved a private room in their dining room. Everything was WONDERFUL. We chose the caprese salad, king salmon, cheese plate, and bread and butter as appetizers (which were the recommendations of the chef). For entrees, we chose the steak, duck, and market seafood. Everything was delicious. It was warm, flavorful, with a beautiful presentation and all brought out in a timely manner which is not easy for a party of 27! The service was top notch. All of their staff was friendly and attentive. The location is great! Right in the middle of town and the building and grounds are so beautiful and well maintained. My family was all raving about the experience. We couldn’t have picked a better spot to have our wedding dinner. Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great view, Romantic
Kathy and I were staying in Fort Bragg for a few days at the end of July. Made reservations at the recommendation of a friend. Dining room was a little stuffy (glassed-in porch) until the server opened up a door and window to provide some airflow. Service and food were excellent. We started with appetizers, BBQ pork ribs for me and the heirloom tomato caprese for Kathy. We both enjoyed our choices. For dinner I had the fried chicken (which consisted of two boneless thighs fried to a tender and crispy perfection) and a side of smoked paprika fries. Kathy had the grilled painted hills filet mignon. The romaine heart salad on her plate was both beautiful and delicious. There was no problem accommodating Kathy's gluten-free requirement.
I was not a fan of the food or service here. Right off the bat, the hostess was extremely rude to me and my husband. We were not guests at the inn, but we had made reservations in the restaurant for that night. The restaurant had maybe 3-4 tables of people inside, but it still took over 30 minutes for us to get seated. The waitress completely ignored us throughout the evening. We never got drink refills or even had a chance to order any cocktails. And the food was not good either. the BBQ ribs were extremely dry. The fried chicken had no flavor and for over $20 we only received one chicken thigh. The duck breast was off somehow, I don't know if it was the seasoning or something. We hardly touched our food and had to flag someone down to get our bill. We were visiting friends in the area and this was one of the highest rated places for dining and I'm not sure why after our visit.
Special place with great food. Romantic but easy atmosphere and nice service. Loved the town and how everything was so old and well kept and still so appreciated.
Last night in the city for the weekend with my partner we had made a reservation to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We were really...
