Harvest Market - MENDOCINO

They offer a variety of organic food, beer, vegan items, as well as a selection of eco-friendly household products. The staff is friendly and helpful, making it easy to assemble a picnic basket for a trip along the river.

This load has prices that are incredible, especially when it comes to organic products. it is an old school with a witness for rich hippies. many hostess, snickers, fritos and pork rinds with few organic leaks sprinkled in. good selection of vegan meat and cheese with a great view and smell of the huge metzgerei section while they browse. probably 10% of the load is vegan and another 20% veg. the personal is often degrunted and surly and the management seems to have a constant conflict with the many number of transients that hang on. this is an international Grocers shop that tells them that most of their articles are exactly what they are at walmart.

This restaurant offers standard small plates, a small salad, and an olive bar. The vegetables are not organic. I only ordered water here and got some rice cakes to go. This is not the only option in Mendocino; there is a lovely little vegetarian co-op a few blocks away called Corners of the Mouth.

I'm sorry to say that this is pretty much the only option in Mendocino Village. They do have some good basic options for vegan dishes, but it's also one of the priciest places I've ever been to, especially for common items like fruits and vegetables. In fact, all of the basics are overpriced, from coffee to peanut butter and jelly, noodles to frozen pizzas. They have a large meat section, and oddly enough, hostess donuts and twinkies are displayed alongside Newman-os. It's a bit confusing.
