The waitress informed us that the special dish came one way, but what we received was completely different. When we inquired about salads being included, we were told that they weren't part of the lunch menu, despite the sign on the whiteboard at the entrance indicating otherwise. However, they did provide us with one in the end. My chicken-fried steak was overcooked to the point of being inedible! The breading had excellent flavor, but the steak was burnt. The gravy was just okay, while the fries were very good, and my husband said the cake was great. Unfortunately, I couldn't try it because I'm allergic to coconut.

I have visited Cheryl's place in Hawley as well as Merkel, and I've never had a bad experience at either location. The food is excellent, and the service is outstanding.
