Cajun House - Merrillville

Well let me tell ya.........my mother and my sister and me went there on a whim after a not so successful post christmas shopping trip and WOW it was delightful as my mom said. Check it out for yourself! Your families will thank you!

I haven't written a bad review in a minute and unfortunately Cajun Crab House deserves every comment of it. First of all I'm a little confused why the businesses in this area close around on a clock on a weekday or weekend. Number two we were only able to get the service at the bar and not able to order from the full menu even though they were not closed yet. #3 the food was disgusting! A friend and I decided to get a couple items from the menu because we were very hungry and Cooper Hawk across the way was closed. The crab cakes were a joke. They were too salty and didn't have any crab in them; they were a total disgrace. The chicken wings were baked too hard and the seafood bread was literally a joke. I'm not sure what kind of seafood was on the seafood bread, but it definitely was not seafood. They ran out of crab gumbo which we couldn't try that. My friend who ordered the catfish fsaid that it was also fried too hard, which seems to be a common pattern here or at least towards the end of the night. I will say the bartender was decent and the drinks were good. However the bartender was also serving tables around him when they're clearly with two people at the hostess area that could have been serving. Definitely a mess do not go to this establishment unless you're getting crab legs it's not worth it!

It's a nice place to have dinner. Menu options are definitely great and goes in accord with the name. Seats are hard but the tables are wide to fit the mess you leave after eating crabs. Drink selection is good, great variety of drinks. Overall a little bit expensive but that's how it is these days everywhere you want to eat out.

GREAT FOOD GOOD PROPORTION SIZE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS KINDA OFF WHEN CERTAIN PEOPLE ARE THERE.

My family and I ate here about 2+ years ago, around the time they first opened; AMAZING! Back again today and consistent results as the first!!
