It 's a typical Portuguese cafe/restaurant. Not fine dining but basic, simple, well cooked tasty food, reasonably priced. Good service and friendly atmosphere. Would recommend.
We were looking for an alternative for our hotel, this is realy local. Simple, Portuguese cuisine, however well prepared and with enough friendliness served. Next to that, realy affordable price. Do not expect luxury or high end cuisine, local!
Well were normally veggie but as I said above....I had the pork secrets with migas and they were kickass. My wife had the fish fillets. Look you're not in Lisbon or Lagos so it is what it is. The chef was very proud of the pork secrets.
Being the only restaurant in the village we went in for lunch. The staff were pleasant although spoke limited English but this is a bit off the tourist track so probably don't get many foreigners in. The menus were only in Portugese too so we had to guess a bit and use Google. Menu was heavily meat based dishes and the only option for a vegetarian (me) was spinach soup. I didn't mind this too much as I have had amazing soups in Portugal but sadly it was like dish water with a few carrots in it. My partner had pigs' cheeks which were not served very elegantly (on a bed of chips and rice with no vegetables) but the meat was amazingly tender and tasty. Prices were pretty cheap. Good place to go if you want a typical Portugese meal. Avoid if vegetarian or not very adventurous.
We had 2 plates of the day which were ok but nothing special . Disappointed to have raw garlic on the grilled mackerel . Service was fine.
