This is such a lovely restaurant. The food is amazing and so freshly made. The owner, Mary, is charming and clearly cares about making sure her customers enjoy their meal. We had delicious gyoza and deep fried squid to start, then beef rice hotpot and chicken teriyaki noodles for main, washed down with a reasonably priced pinot grigio! It is on our doorstep and it's a lovely addition to the local area which has seen a big improvement since the new hospital opened.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal it tasted authentic and home made. We had gyozas, pumpkin croquettes, katsu curry and beef teriyaki all excellent. We'll be back!
We have been to Mary's Garden several times lately. The food is a fusion of Japanese and Korean food. I would say that this is our most favourite place to eat at the moment. The food is made with fresh produce and is cooked quite beautifully. We love the pumpkin croquettes, the bibimap, yaki udon noodles, kimchi pancakes. The ambience is cosy.
Don't be put off by the modest exterior and quirky interior this is a great restaurant. There sushi/sashimi options are limited but what they do serve is super fresh. The menu is packed with really delicious Japanese dishes and the odd Korean influenced one. Try the Bulgarian white a bargain! To be thoroughly recommended.
