Acropolis Cuisine - Metairie

This is my favorite hole in the wall. The seating is small, but it's worth the wait. The menu is good but I go always get whatever the special is that day. Check their fb. They post their specials daily. On my recent trip, I had the Crab stuffed flounder and six onion soup. I was doing a happy dance the entire time the food was so good. The kasseri burger is awesome and sells out quick because it's so popular. The six onion soup and Caesar salad are must haves.

This place has changed management again. It's not a warm place anymore as the owner's aunt hovers over the waitstaff like a hawk. She always looks around, but is not there for the customers. The owner is also arrogant. I asked for extra taziki when I ordered my sandwhich, because I do not feel they put enough on their sandwich; so I add more. This time, it looked like there was none on my sandwhich. So I asked them to remove the 1.00 charge for extra taziki since it appeared and tasted like there was none on the sandwich. Most restaurants would have apologized, or offered suggestions on how to order it next time and then deducted the $1.00. They would not, and were not nice about it. I am willing to pay for extra taziki each time I order my sandwhich. This time it did not look like there was any on the sandwhich. Therefore, I wanted the $1.00 taken off. The aunt strongly refused to deduct the $1 and the arrogant owner accused me of wanting something for nothing after discussing in their language. This can't be the furthered from the truth. I have been coming here from day one of its opening many years ago, and NEVER had an issue. This time I did and they lost a customer because they would not take off a $1.00 charge. This owner needs a lesson in how to deal with nice long term customers and customer satisfaction. He should not have come out of the kitchen to make a scene. But, He is the owner and can do what he wants. There are many other restaurants that offer better customer service. Oh, as always, the waitstaff has always been great. The owners aunt, not so much.

Amended review. Came again, the food was back on point, service greatly improved.

The waiter was outstanding! He was very attentive and helped pack up our leftovers. The place is small and very crowded. The food was good. The only complaint I have is that we ordered an appetizer of Hummus not knowing that it came with our meals. Highly recommend.

Wow!!! My wife and I were blown away. We stopped here for lunch today and was amazed at the service and food. This was our first time here and heard many great things about it. The people working here are very attentive and polite. Our food came out quick and was awesome. My wife and I both had the gyro platter with mixed grilled veggies and a salad. One of the best Caesar salad that we have ever eaten. The gyro was good and the season that they put on the grilled veggies was awesome. Our drinks were never empty and the portions were big. With great food and great service, we will definitely be back.
