Crediton Tandoori - Mid Devon

I used to live near Crediton many years ago and when in the area I usually have a meal here. Popped in on a Friday at about 6 pm, it was quiet and they obviously do a good take away trade. Saying that the food was excellent and the server was pleasant and efficient. Regarding the food, it was very good and was well cooked with the right amount of spices. Good value, about half that I would pay in London. Sorry to see sone negative reviews and based on what we had were not justified.

Our first mistake was deciding to walk into a completely empty Resturaunt. Thing just got worse. Worst Indian experience ever. They even tried to rip us off with the bill. When we asked for a receipt things got very awkward. The best part was trying to have a conversation whilst listening to the horrendous snoring from the manager. You couldn’t write this nightmare.

I have had takeaways from here before and eaten in and had no problems with the food until my takeaway prawn balti last night. Unfortunately, it was probably the worst takeaway curry I’ve ever eaten and to be honest, I could have made a better one myself. The rice was undercooked, the curry sauce was very watery and the prawns were overcooked. The sauce just tasted like salty water with a teaspoon of curry powder in it and even the naan bread didn’t taste like naan. My husband said his lamb dansak wasn’t that nice either. I usually write good reviews for places but when I’m paying over £21 for a takeaway, I would like to enjoy it.

We have been patrons for some 16 yrs now and until the end of lockdown no complaints at all However since then the ingredients are cheap and substandard the food is rarely ready on time and not once in four visits has the order been correct the customer service when something his wrong is appalling and they actually don’t care. We have put it down to staffing issues and given a fair bit of slack but tonight was shocking g and the last time we bother

We are so pleased this isn’t far from us as we love Indian food and came down down here from north London about 9 years ago. Our Indian friends loved it too. Can be a bit slow but worth it in the end.
