The menu features sweet and savory breakfast options, various Greek-inspired brunch choices (the spinach pie is wonderful), sweet and savory pastries (smoked salmon and cream cheese or fresh fruit salad, Greek yogurt with honey and nuts), etc. There is also a selection of homemade cakes, brownies, and flapjacks. Locally roasted coffee beans, fine teas, and hot chocolate are all sourced locally. Additionally, many of the other ingredients are imported by café owners Yiannis and Jill from their own Greek olive groves and local Greek honey producers. The café has a warm and inviting atmosphere, the staff is very friendly, and the breakfasts and brunches are delicious. Highly recommended. The café is located next to a nearby indoor market, offering a small selection of local products such as Greengold olives and olive oil, locally roasted coffee beans, fresh locally grown vegetables, crafts and cards, cosmetics and beauty products, etc. A delightful way to pass the time while browsing and building up your appetite for the waffles!
The restaurant is in a fantastic location, with a footpath directly connecting from the fields at the back, making it easily accessible from Brakey Wood or the St Edmund monument. The coffee is excellent and the food is delicious. This place comes highly recommended as a perfect spot for walkers to rest and refuel.
Absolutely lovely place and people and dogs food was cooked excellently cake was lush definitely going back
We are fortunate to have such a fantastic cafe right on our doorstep. Once again, we enjoyed excellent coffee at GreenGold cafe this morning, along with some amazing Greek olive oil and honey to bring home. The staff were friendly and accommodating, as always.
What a gem in the heart of sunny Suffolk! Arrived early...just after 8am to be greeted by the aroma of freshly baking coffee and walnut cake and cinnamon puffs. I settled myself in and was quickly served by Jill who couldn't have been more helpful with my dietary preferences. I chose a black americano and apple puffs which were vegan and oh so good. The coffee was rich and delicious, there's no hiding bad coffee in a black americano! All of the cakes and pastries are freshly baked on the premises, including a very good sausage and apple pie (using very local pork), and baclava, made with honey from their families village in Greece. I left clutching a take-home box containing spanakopita (Greek spinach pie), two lemons, and a selection of fresh veg for Sunday lunch as there is also a mini fruit and veg stall on the patio at the front. It was a really good experience from start to finish, I whole-heartedly recommend...I will definitely be back!
