Midlothian Apothecary

This has been my favorite pharmacy for years!! I moved about an hour away and now I?m not considered a ?REGULAR? so my scripts don?t get filled in a timely manner and the regular customers get prioritized over mine even if mine was received first.

I understand the appeal; it has a charming, nostalgic vibe with its old-fashioned soda fountain, and the pharmacist is incredibly friendly. However, it's just too old-school for my liking. Unlike other pharmacies that have modernized their systems, this one lacks efficiency. If there's an issue with your prescription, you won't find out until you drive there. Need the pharmacist to make a quick call and enter a special code to fill your prescription? You’ll have to wait until you’re right in front of them—and even then, you'll need to return later to pick it up. If a snowstorm causes your prescription to get stuck on a truck, don't expect a call to inform you; you'll only discover it when you arrive. While CVS may not be perfect, they at least send text and email reminders for refills and notify you of any delays or issues with your prescription. Here, though, you won't receive any updates. I found myself driving there about ten times in the first three months of a new prescription. I don’t need to be on friendly terms with my pharmacist; all I want is a simple text message when my prescription is ready.

I used to believe that CVS and Walgreens were decent pharmacies, but after having around 100 negative experiences with them, I randomly chose Midlothian Apothecary. It turned out to be the best decision I've ever made! I'm truly amazed by the incredible kindness and willingness of the staff—they are always like this. If I could, I would give them 10 stars. My family has been visiting this place for years for lunch and to fill our prescriptions, and we consistently receive outstanding service. The staff is always knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions we might have! It's such a family-friendly atmosphere, and I adore walking in to see the charming vintage fountain. I've always loved this place, and all of my friends I've brought here feel the same way!

I’ve only recently switched our family to solely use one pharmacy, in lieu of several large stores simultaneously. I must say that in that period, Midlothian Apothecary (Midlothian Tnpk) has greatly eased my mind while eliminating the need to call several pharmacies to check their inventory. We are a family of four with multiple prescriptions, some of which are difficult to find at one store. They are more than willing to go the extra effort to make sure our needs are seamlessly met.
