Japanese shaved ice to share with your squad! This is a cute dessert shop tucked away in a plaza next to the 24-hour fitness and near a taekwondo studio. When you first walk in, straight ahead is the register where there is a bell you can ring to notify a worker you are there and need help. On the right is around 6-7 tables for dining that sits around 2-4 people per. When I was there, I ordered the Pink Mont Blanc, honestly because it looks really cute. Something I do like about this place is that their staff is so friendly! I think they really go above and beyond. After you order, they will give you a buzzer, and once it buzzes there is a small little rectangle cut out near the dining area. You will need to trade in your device and pick up your dessert. The kakigori is super huge and is definitely sharable for parties of 2-3. I will say, I don't think this is the best kakigori I had, there was a lot of big chunks of ice and there was a strange texture that I wasn't used to when eating this. Flavor-wise, it was pretty good though, it was not too overly sweet and I did like the fresh strawberries inside. I would say even though I didn't have an amazing flavorful experience, this place was not bad. It could be I didn't get the right flavor for me.
I got the Lucky Momo, a seasonal menu item. It's a peach and lychee kakigori with jellies inside and a peach shaped cookie on top. The kakigori was very light and tasty, every bite melted in my mouth. The jellies didn't taste like much but they had a nice texture. There was also a very dense cream on top. There was enough portion to split between three people. The inside has cute, simple decor. They give you a pager so you can pick up your order when it's ready. They also have a water station with cups. Was not busy at all when I came on a Sunday afternoon.
If you're a shaved ice enthusiast like me THIS IS THE SPOT! Even during a cold 57 degree winter day I would not turn down shaved ice. Here are my overall thoughts: Price: 5/5 I was initially a bit skeptical about the price. Shaved ice is mostly ice, right? Why am I paying so much for this? The shaved ice was frozen matcha that was shaved so it was flavor packed and in the center was filled with red beans and topped with an ENTIRE crème brûlée!! for around $13 it's definitely worth it as it's enough to share with 2-3 people or if you came on an empty stomach like me you can try to finish it on your own. Service: 5/5 Standard solid service with nice, friendly employees who are willing to help you decide in case you're indecisive like me. The shaved ice came promptly in around 10 mins, but since it was just my group and another group when I went at 5:30 on a Sunday I can't speak on how it would be during a crowded time. Food 5/5 The shaved ice was so good, the texture of the ice was spot on. It had a good matcha flavor which was complimented with the red beans and the crème brûlée which could be a dessert on its own. Make sure you eat from the sides/bottom to avoid it falling (you might wanna get extra cups to share) Overall it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for a cold treat!
Too sweet to my liking.Got their hojicha snow ice, and it 's just so sweet somehow. I usually eat bingsoo and they are never this sweet. Maybe because this is Japanese shaved ice? So it 's different? Who knows.Anyway, I was specifically looking for some shaved ice around the area, and found this place. Glad I tried either way, so I know that their shaved ice is actually that sweet.Though don 't take my words completely. For some people, I 'm sure it 's not as sweet as what I experienced. All depends on your own sweetness tolerance. No restroom available (just FYI).
