Lu's Sandwiches Nicollet Ave

The pan-fried chicken sandwich was incredible! I topped it with a paté spread and mayonnaise, plus extra cucumber, shredded carrots, lettuce, cilantro, peanuts, and soy sauce. Even though it needed a bit more salt, the sandwich paired wonderfully with the spicy sauce. The spring rolls were really tasty too—just a bit more basil and mint would elevate them, but they were fantastic with the peanut sauce. This place is definitely a must-visit for a quick yet delicious sandwich!

I would give this restaurant 4.5 stars. The bread was excellent. The traditional banh mi with cold cuts was quite good; I think it would be even better if the meats were served a bit warmer. The pork banh mi, which is the most popular option, was decent but not particularly outstanding. The staff were friendly, and I appreciated that they offered both small and large sizes. I would definitely return for my banh mi craving, probably later in the day when they’ve really fired up the grills.

The pork is always cooked perfectly. I brought a newbie with me and he's just as hooked as I am. Lu's never disappoints. Service is always presented with a smile. A few years ago, I visited Lu’s with a friend and her sister. While we were dining, they unexpectedly ran out of bread and had to close for the day. One of the kind employees offered us some free egg rolls and sesame balls since they would have to be discarded otherwise. It was such a thoughtful gesture that we still talk about it to this day. I always recommend Lu’s to my friends and love taking visitors there when they come to Minneapolis.
