I had watched the Netflix documentary so was very excited to have a meal here! We had the Sweet Italian and the Hawaii Pie O. I highly recommend the Sweet Italian, it had great flavor. The Hawaii Pie O had some heat to it but was overall very flavorful. We also had the cookies and milk which were phenomenal and the house made vanilla soft serve with olive oil and fleur de sel. Would highly recommend the ice cream with olive oil and fleur de sel it is a Pizzeria Lola staple. Definitely will be back soon!
Pizzeria Lola is our family favorite. Beloved pizzeria in Minneapolis, known for its delicious and creative pizzas. Their menu features a wide variety of unique and classic toppings, making it a fantastic spot for both pizza purists and those looking for something a bit different. The atmosphere at Pizzeria Lola is warm and inviting, with a cozy and casual vibe. It's a great place for families, friends, or even a solo pizza adventure. The staff is friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. As for the pizza itself, it's simply outstanding. The crust is the perfect balance of crispy and chewy, and the quality of ingredients really shines through. Whether you're into traditional Margherita, Korean BBQ, or any of their other creative combinations, you're in for a treat. In addition to the fantastic pizza, save room for their tempting ice cream with EVOO and sea salt for dessert. Pizzeria Lola is a local gem in Minneapolis, and it's no wonder it has a loyal following. If you're a pizza enthusiast or just looking for a great meal, this place should definitely be on your list. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait during peak hours. We never just go, we always make reservations a week or so in advance! Our group split three delicious pizzas Lady Zaza, Boise, and a Margherita. All 3 were great! Even the simplicity of the Margherita was nailed. Lady Zaza was my favorite, though other members of my party liked the other two best so it’s hard to go wrong. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Recommended dishes: Boise Pizza, Lady ZaZa Recommendation for vegetarians: Highly recommend
I was very excited to try Pizzaria Lola as I love fusion cuisine and Korean style pizza sounds very appealing to me. I was a little disappointed that there were only two pizzas with Korean toppings, Korean BBQ and Lady Zaza, which we both ordered. The crust was crispy and perfectly baked. Thin with a nice chew. Absolutely perfect. Lady Zaza had way too much Gochujang on it. It looked like a grocery store chicken BBQ frozen pizza. Therefore, it was over-salted and not pleasant to eat. The Korean BBQ tasted great. The arugula was marinated and was not pungent. Both had rather fatty meats with Lady Zaza having purely fat. That was very unpleasant and with the overload of sauce, unpalatable. They add 21% to the tab but do not require you to tip. Service was ok. The ambiance was rather cold and not comfortable. The music was too loud. People were sitting very close to each other and everyone could follow everyone's conversations. For the prices, I was expecting something more upscale, not upscale per se but a little bit more style. I feel there has been too much hype around the restaurant for them to try to do their best. Sorry to say that. In summary, I really wanted to love the place but it was disappointed. I would have liked to see more Korean style pizzas on the menu, less sauce and a more balanced salt profile, and lean meat or at least not purely fat meat on the pizza. Crust and dough was perfection though.
Pizzeria Lola is one of a kind! Authentic Italian style pizzas with a Korean flare. I got the Iowan pizza- delicious. I had to make a reservation two weeks in advance, even for a Thursday night (seems like they are always busy which is a good sign) but it was so worth it! Fun date night place and even great for families.
