The rest of the food was fine but not particularly memorable. ADDED: The cook on the shrimp in the Ranchero Jalisco was way above expectations and that dish as a whole was better than any of the dishes from our first visit.
The chips and salsa were great.. so fresh! The food was not hot when it arrived. It was also lacking spice, both heat and flavor. The chicken soup was over- filled with frozen veggies. I added a bunch of salt and salsa to the broth. We like spicy food so this was not our flavors, if you like mild, less spicy food, Cafe Maya is for you. You cannot beat the service!
Let me ask.... Is there anything about this place that's not outstanding? This was my Fourth visit over lunch. Each wonderful. I have difficulty with overpriced food(and I love it)… except for the Maya. The seasoning was perfect, my shrimp was the best in town and the servers were patient(we had an unannounced party of 12) and our food was delivered to our table quickly and hot when it arrived. My advice is for you to go to the Cafe Maya and go soon!
Wonderful food, especially the fajitas! My husband and I loved our meal! Great service in a warm, casual atmosphere.
Came here again after their opening and I’d say this place is unfortunately pretty mediocre Tex-Mex with questionable margaritas. The margarita itself can come in a giant mug that taste like pure sugar mix and not much else. The food was okay. We left not sure if we’d ever come back. Maybe we’ll try again someday.
