The Pickled Duck - MODBURY

During my visit to The Pickled Duck I ordered the Game Changer burger and it was amazing!!! When the ‘veggie patty’ was listed as an ingredient I didn’t know what to expect, but I was impressed when the patty tasted like plant based meat rather than vegetables. The vegan cheese and aioli were really good too. I definitely want to return here for that burger and to try their other vegan options!

First time diners, chose the Pickled Duck based on a recommendation from a friend. Ordered the American Gangster & Field of Dreams burgers, Hot Little Mexican Pizza and the chicken salad. The pizza was honestly great. The burgers were bland, and even though different burgers tasted the same. The salad had way too much balsamic glaze. There was no balance to the dishes. When we mentioned the salad's shortcomings, we were offered a coffee or something as compensation! Overall not the worst meal but far from gourmet as promised per the menu. Flavour and balance need improvements, as does service.

Despite a lot of effort the ambiance here is not great - with wait staff whizzing around and people lining up - it feels like a high quality maccas. (Literally attached to a bottle shop also not a great idea.) Sorry if that sounds harsh... I can honestly see they have tried but I stand by what I said. The food was a bit salty for my taste and a tad on the small side given the price which are a bit much for the area. Service okay but not good. 20 minute wait for some burgers and fries.

Went for dinner on a Tuesday night. The place was cranking!! I could hardly hear the person we were sitting with across the table, it was so noisy in there. Meals took their time to come out (they were busy) but the burgers were very tasty and the sides were amazing! The chips side we ordered (pictured) was basically nachos but with chips EPIC!!!!! Not bad for a pub based walk in cafe style burger bar. Think we will be back!! ????????????????????

Went here for lunch. Great food. The menu has a good selection. We wanted to try everything! The burgers have great flavours. Yummy loaded milkshakes. Plenty of seating for busy lunch times.
