I visited restaurants and bars throughout the city and the maritime. it is not easy that the fox and hound the best. food and service they always update their menus to try new and different dings. you feel like a norm of cheers when you come in, like you drink with a hallo and your fallen drink when you are regular without asking. where do they know a pub where it is so busy that they have to make reservations? the wet night is the nap night, and my friend gilles who traveled the world said that these are the best ripening he ever had anywhere! wing night on thurs, pick them up there early as it is packed, fantastic wings with entertainment on the stage. pizza, fish and chips, burger, etc. etc. etc. are all fantastic. if there are any problems, they do it right. they bring fantastic acts for music to enjoy in the evening at the weekends to enjoy in a very cozy atmosphere. a fantastic adjacent kapuze bar, which is not very well known by most monctonians. we love it in riverview!
We visited the restaurant on the first day of the green level for COVID restrictions being lifted. We noticed upon entering that no one besides us was wearing a mask, not even the staff. The restaurant was about 75% full on a Saturday night. We sat down and waited for a server, who never came to our table even after being at the table next to us twice. None of the other servers acknowledged us. After being ignored for about 15 minutes, we decided to leave. We ended up going to another bar in Riverview (Five Bridges) where we were promptly greeted and served with proper health protocols in place (employees wearing masks, etc.). This will be our last visit to Fox 'n Hound.
We adore The Fox for their Thursday night wings. It is a welcoming spot with excellent food and cold, refreshing beer. The wings are fantastic and the poutine is delectable. We always return for more. Don't miss out on this great dining experience!
As bare, it's nothing special. in the round a large room with tables and dimming lighting. the menu is what they would expect for pub food. they follow good hygienic rules; server wearing masks and there is a separate entrance (to the side of the building) and exit (in the shopping center.) while the service is friendly and drinks come quickly, the food service is slow. After we order our food, it took about 45 minutes before we got it. the hamburger was big and juicy. the nativity was massive and excellent. friends are great. hot sandwiches good. I'd go back, but I'd make sure I don't have a place to be too fast after I eat.
If you could give a 5 star to a server for being the worst server ever, Wanda would win this prize. 45 minutes after placing our order we still hadn't received our food and no drink refills were offered. Politely asked Wanda, our server, when...our food was coming as 45 minutes have passed. She said it's being prepared now and there is a rush on it. Then 15 minutes later we received our food. No apology, no nothing.... I can completely understand that mistakes can happen or a server forgets to put an order in... but not to own up to it or at the very least apologize for the mistake and try to make our experience slightly better that we might want to come back to this establishment would be expected at this point. A free drink (I was only drinking pop) or appetizer offer would have definitely changed my opinion of our server. This was the first time in my adult life that I didn't give my server a tip! Then I get home and realized Wanda charged me for a rum/coke (I had 1 pop)!!! Time to retire from the service industry!!
